Making mistakes
For most of us non-computers, an inevitable part of the learning process is making mistakes. In the spirit of embracing every mistake as a learning opportunity, I bring you today’s concise post.
Take chances, make mistakes, get messy.
Ms. Frizzle
Despite what I like to think are my best attempts, I can’t predict every challenge in my creative process. But, when mistakes are inevitably made, I can take steps to learn from them.
I had planned to post more timelapse videos of my painting process—or at least what my process looks like at the moment. Unfortunately, my footage is unusable; my camera's shutter speed was out of sync with my LED lighting. This timing resulted in rolling bands across the clips. After hours of unsuccessful attempts to manipulate the footage, I decided to scrap it, move on, and learn how to prevent this phenomenon before it becomes a problem.
Instead of sharing the botched timelapse, I’ll share photos of my final paintings.
Technical Note
One day I hope to have a pro-sumer camera that will make these sorts of adjustments easier.
